"A Walk to Remember"

This year's launch Walk at Tommy Thompson Park, aka the Leslie Street Spit, was a smashing success! Beautiful weather, informative staff from the Toronto & Region Conservation Authority, and a great group of walkers added up to a Walk to remember.
Once again this year Mayor David Miller was on hand to open the festivities and serve as honourary Walk Leader. We thank the Mayor for his enthusiastic participation.
The Mayor, seen here with Festival Director and Founder Tom Fiore, issued an official Proclamation declaring October "Toronto Trails Festival Month." To read the proclamation, please click here.
Many thanks to all who participated. Special thanks to Walk Leader Alan Lavine and Xtreme Walk Leader Jay Tabac, and Karen McDonald and Ralph Toninger from the Toronto & Region Conservation Authority.
Check out our new flickr.com gallery of photos from the launch!
