Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Toronto Trails Festival?
The Toronto Trails Festival is a month of celebrations to encourage Torontonians and tourists to enjoy the many health and social benefits of walking and hiking on the world-class system of trails in Toronto.
How do you participate?
Participation was free and open to all who wished to share in the joys of walking and hiking in the great outdoors. All you needed to do was register online for the walks you wanted to explore. Online registration closed at 4:30 pm on the Friday before each walk.
Why is online registration important?
By registering in advance, you provide us with information that we use to make decisions such as whether we need more hike leaders or supplies and to adapt each walk appropriately for maximum success and fun.
What is the “Corporate Challenge”?
Again this year, Toronto Mayor David Miller challenged his 26,000 city employees to take part in the Toronto Trails Festival. The Corporate Challenge was also accepted by other progressive companies who challenged their staff to participate in the free and fun Festival walking & hiking activities. To learn more about the Corporate Challenge, please contact Tom Fiore at (416) 598-3300 ext. 1
Could I bring my dog?
While for some of us walking with your furry best friend is one of life's pleasures, we must consider the comfort of all Toronto Trails Festival walkers. Therefore pets are not allowed on the guided walks but you can explore any of our self-guided walks together.
